Munilla Construction Management, or MCM, deactivated social media pages last week when the sites were flooded with direct threats against employees following the false reports that the company was led by mostly women, MCM President Jorge Munilla said in an email to The Associated Press. Munilla said the company's management team of 92 includes 11 women, and four are either project executives or department heads.
Conservative site Squawker claimed MCM is led by women in a blog posted the day following the March 15 collapse at Florida International University. "There are some things women can't do," it states. "One of these is construction." Dangerous, a site run by rightwing firebrand Milo Yiannopoulos, adds, "Diversity quotas have been a pain to many men trying to enter the STEM fields off of pure talent alone, but can these quotas have more sinister consequences?"
