November shows improvement in passenger travel at Orlando International Airport

ORLANDO, Fla. — When it comes to air travel at Orlando International Airport, November traditionally marks the beginning of the busy holiday travel season.  This November, even during the pandemic, Orlando International Airport saw a marked improvement in traffic over the previous month.  This November passenger volume increased by nearly 300,000 to more than 1.8 million.

Besides the Thanksgiving holiday, increased passenger traffic can partially be attributed to the fact that OIA is now offering service to 85% of the destinations that were available prior to the pandemic.

“November traffic shows another month of gradual improvement for Orlando International Airport,” says Phil Brown, Chief Executive Officer of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority.  “It is also an indicator however, that the recovery will be slow but that we are well positioned for growth in the future.”

November Statistical Data:

- Compared to last year, domestic traffic was down 51% with 1,764,879 total monthly passengers.

- International traffic was down 90% with 50,994 arrivals and departures.

- Combined, overall traffic was down 56%, with 1,815,873 total passengers.

- On a rolling 12-month basis, traffic is down 51%, with a total of 24,145,534 passengers.
