Orlando Christian Prep beats Grandview Prep 53-49

LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) — LAKELAND, Fla. (AP) -- Mike Tolbert sank four free throws in the final seconds to help Orlando Christian Prep hold on for a 53-49 victory over Grandview Prep in the Florida Class 2A boys basketball championship game.

The Warriors (34-1) stormed out to an early lead Thursday, and it looked like the one of the nation's top teams would have an easy road to their fourth state title in six years.

However, Grandview Prep (30-5) wasn't going to go away quietly. Grandview trimmed the deficit to 24-22 early in the third period but the Warriors outscored the Pride 16-3 for the rest of the stanza. The Pride grinded their way back into the game but couldn't get ahead.

The Warriors had a balanced scoring effort as Dmitri Thompson had 12 points and Adonys Henriquez added 10 points and seven rebounds.

Jordan Coblin had 17 points to lead Grandview Prep, while Jamal Palmer had 14 points and eight rebounds.
