President Trump showing no symptoms of COVID-19, doctors say

WASHINGTON — President Donald Trump’s medical team says the president isn’t showing any symptoms of COVID-19.

Tuesday was the president’s first full day back at the White house after being discharged from the hospital, where he was treated for the coronavirus.

After meeting with him in the White House residence today, the president’s medical team says his vital signs are stable.

Meanwhile, the president’s campaign staff says his focus is still on the election.

Back in the White House, and back on social media, the president tweeted throughout much of the day Tuesday.

In one tweet, the president said COVID-19 is far less lethal than the flu, and said we have learned to live with it.

Twitter flagged it, saying it violated its rules against sharing misleading and potentially harmful information about the coronavirus pandemic.

Facebook removed a similar post from the president, saying it was incorrect.

It comes after the president urged Americans not to fear COVID-19 in a video posted to twitter.

“Don’t let it dominate you, Don’t be afraid of it. You’re going to beat it,” President Trump said in the video.

More 210,000 Americans have already died from COVID-19.

The Johns Hopkins Center for Systems Science and Engineering says the death rate for COVID-19 is thought to be as much as ten times higher than most strains of the flu.

As the president continues to recover, several White House staffers remain in quarantine, including the White House press secretary and two aides.

President Trump’s campaign staff says he still plans to debate Joe Biden in Florida next week, as planned.

It’s unclear whether he’ll be required to test negative for COVID-19 before participating.
