Florida's Sunshine Skyway is an impressive-looking structure, but a Veterans Day flourish Monday morning made the bridge that spans Tampa Bay look even more dramatic.
Engineers from the Florida Department of Transportation used its new, $15 million lighting system on the bridge to turn the span's columns red and white while showcasing the deck in blue to honor Veterans Day, the Tampa Bay Times reported.
The FDOT installed 1,800 colored LED light fixtures on the bridge earlier this year, the newspaper reported.

In August, the FDOT lit the bridge in pink during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Times reported.
The bridge was lit up Sunday in its current colors at dusk and will be lit in them again Monday night.
