Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School therapy dogs get recognition in yearbook

PARKLAND, Fla. — The therapy dogs who helped students at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School earned a special place in the yearbook.

The 14 good boys and girls each posed for portraits in October. One pup even donned a bow tie for the occasion.

Scott Travis, a reporter for the Sun Sentinel of South Florida, tweeted a photo of the dogs' yearbook page. As of Thursday morning, the tweet had been liked more than 6,000 times.

The therapy dogs first arrived at the school in the wake of the shooting that occurred Feb 14, 2018, on school grounds, and claimed the lives of 17 students. The dogs came back by popular demand for the 2018-19 school year, the Sun Sentinel reported.
