Police: Man charged with raping girl was previously caught on camera abusing son

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. — A Tennessee man who prosecutors said was caught on camera last year abusing his son is facing new charges, this time for allegedly raping a 13-year-old girl.

Randy Dickens, 35, was arrested Thursday on charges of aggravated rape, sexual battery by an authority figure, solicitation of a minor and solicitation of sexual exploitation of a minor, WSMV-TV reported.

The alleged incident happened in June, WZTV-TV reported, citing a Murfreesboro police report. Further details are unclear.

In October 2018, surveillance video surfaced allegedly showing Dickens abusing his 6-year-old son, news outlets reported at the time. Dickens could allegedly be seen slapping and kicking the child several times before shoving him to the ground, WTVF-TV reported.

Dickens was charged with child abuse and neglect.
