Authorities received a call back in January from an anonymous person, who claimed Williams' husband, Kevin Hunter, poisoned her, according to a police report recently obtained by People. Police believe the caller was a fan of Williams' show.

When officers arrived on the scene, Hunter answered the door. Although he was “hesitant” to let the cops in, they found Williams in her bed “with the blanket covering from neck to toe,” the publication reported.

The media maven said she was recovering from a broken shoulder when the cops asked about her well-being. During a December episode of her show, she revealed she had fractured her shoulder.

She became "tearful" when the cops asked her about the poisoning claims, but she denied the allegation.

Police said Hunter responded to the wellness check by saying something in regards to there not being previous “calls to his house regarding domestic violence.” Authorities left after the exchange and once they confirmed Williams was safe.

Earlier this month, Wendy Williams filed for divorce from Hunter, who she married nearly 22 years ago. The TV host cited "irreconcilable differences." The two have an 18-year-old son, Kevin Jr., together.
