She was five months pregnant when she disappeared.
Prosecutors said in court Thursday morning that Sawyer's uncle by marriage, Johnathan Quiles, is suspected of impregnating her.
The lawyer for the teen's family told WJAX-TV that he was communicating directly with the sheriff and "the family is still praying and holding out hope Iyana is found alive."
Multiple sources told WJAX-TV they believe the teen's body is in the landfill on Otis Road. Deputies said they are still treating her disappearance as a missing person's case.
