After some setbacks in production, more details are emerging about the cast of the 25th James Bond film -- the last for Daniel Craig.
Variety reported that a promotional video was posted ahead of the start of production of the latest 007 sequel, revealing that Rami Malek will be a villain in the film.
Specifics weren’t made clear, but producer Barbara Broccoli said, “We’ve got quite a ride in store for Mr. Bond.”
Broccoli said the film will start with the British secret agent on holiday in Jamaica, where the film is shooting on location.
Malek wasn’t able to be in Jamaica for the video announcements, but he did hint about his role in a video message posted to the 007 Twitter page.
“I promise you all I will be making sure Mr. Bond does not have an easy ride of it in this, his 25th outing.”
Others confirmed in the still untitled film are Lea Seydoux as Dr. Madeleine Swann, Jeffrey Wright as Felix Leiter, Ben Whishaw as Q, Ralph Fiennes as M and Rory Kinnear as Tanner. Cary Joji Fukunaga will be directing after Danny Boyle dropped out “due to creative differences.”
“Bond 25” is set for an April 8, 2020 release.
