LOS ANGELES — Singer LeAnn Rimes has nearly a dozen tattoos, but her latest one has been criticized by some on social media.
The country-pop vocalist, who runs a lifestyle blog called Soul of EverLe, posted her new ink on her Instagram page Friday. She went to celebrity tattoo artist Daniel Winter, who goes by Winter Stone and has worked with Lady Gaga, Mandy Moore, Demi Lovato, Chrissy Teigen, Joe Jonas and Miley Cyrus, to name a few.
The problem some people have with her dainty script artwork? It says, "god's work."
"God has a capital G. Sorry, just the way it is," one person wrote.
"It's God. Not god. FYI," read another comment.
"Reference to 'God' should begin with capital 'G,' and according to the Bible, the Holy word of God, it is," a fan commented. "It is true that man looks on outward appearances but God looks at the heart. What does He see in yours? It’s not for any of your friends and fans to judge you or your decisions. God is the ultimate judge we all must answer to. Still a fan."
"I’m actually surprised that the Tattooer didn’t recommend a capital G," another comment read.
Rimes didn't directly respond to the criticisms of some, but she did like a comment that said, "God or god - he knows your heart!"
