LOS ANGELES — A woman and her two dogs are in custody after authorities said she stole an RV and led deputies on a high-speed chase in California.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies began pursuing the vehicle, which had been stolen in Simi Valley, about 7 p.m. Tuesday in Santa Clarita when the driver failed to yield, authorities said. During the half-hour chase, the woman struck a palm tree and several vehicles – all while her dogs were in the RV, KCBS-TV reported.

News helicopters captured video of the incident – including the moment one dog jumped from the moving vehicle onto the street below.

Authorities apprehended the driver in Tarzana after she struck another vehicle, injuring two people inside, KCBS reported. A dog followed as the woman tried to flee on foot, KABC reported.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, was apprehended and treated for her injuries. Authorities plan to charge her with DUI, felony hit-and-run and felony evading, KABC reported.

Both of the suspect's dogs suffered injuries that weren't life-threatening, the California Highway Patrol said. They are at Animal Control, KCBS reported.
