Woman escapes after being sexually assaulted, tied up, shocked for 24 hours, police say

GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — A woman is safe after police said she was held against her will and sexually assaulted for about 24 hours.

Gwinnett County police said officers were called Friday to a home where someone called to say a woman showed up fully nude, hands bound with rope, and duct tape around her head and neck.

Officers later tracked down the victim’s boyfriend, Thuan Q. Dinh, who they said drove to the victim’s home in California and took her back to his home in Buford, Georgia. He then physically and sexually assaulted her for a day, police said.

Dinh was arrested and charged with rape, false imprisonment, robbery and aggravated assault.

The victim is recovering at a safe location.
