Woman filmed driving with her legs, apparently texting on interstate

DENVER — A shocking, 45-second-long cellphone video taken last week shows a woman apparently driving with her legs on Interstate 25 in Colorado as her cellphone sits in both of her hands.

The video was posted Aug. 6 on Facebook. In it, a woman in a white SUV can be seen with her left leg on the steering wheel, leaving her hands free to use the cellphone in front of her.

"If she isn't going to take care of her life, the least she can do is be careful because she can get into a crash and if not injure, she can kill someone," wrote Maureen Bustillo in a caption for the video.

The clip garnered more than 100 comments and upward of 300 shares.

Colorado State Patrol Trooper Nate Reid told KMGH that the situation was clearly dangerous and reckless, however, he said filming may not have been the best reaction.

"People get very agitated when they see cameras of any kind, especially like a cellphone camera. People get defensive and it could turn into a road rage situation," he said.

Instead, he suggested drivers call law enforcement and report the situation.
