2 Fort Benning soldiers killed in weather-related incident in Georgia, Army says

WHITE COUNTY, Ga. — A weather-related incident has left two Fort Benning-based soldiers dead and three others hurt in Georgia, the U.S. Army said Tuesday.

According to WSB-TV, Army officials said the incident occurred at Yonah Mountain near Dahlonega, in the northern part of the state.

The three injured soldiers are in the hospital, the Maneuver Center of Excellence and the Fort Benning Public Affairs Office said.

Officials have not released the victims’ names, WSB-TV reported. No further details about the incident were immediately available.
