One ticket in California matched all six numbers in Friday’s Mega Millions drawing, meaning a lucky winner will be claiming the $421 million jackpot.
The winning numbers -- 3, 16, 25, 44 and 55, plus the Mega Ball 13 -- were sold at a gas station in the upscale Woodland Hills section of Los Angeles, lottery officials said on the Mega Millions website.
The jackpot had been building since it was last won on Oct. 22, when a winning ticket was drawn for $108 million, lottery officials said.

The winning ticket holder will have the option of receiving the jackpot in 30 graduated payments over 29 years or a lump sum payment of $289.5 million, KNBC-TV reported.
One ticket with five numbers but missing the Mega number was sold in Ohio, KABC-TV reported. It is worth $3 million because the player used the Megaplier option, lottery officials said. The other three Match 5 winning tickets, worth $1 million apiece, were sold in Mississippi, New York and Texas.
The jackpot has reset to $20 million for the next drawing, which is Tuesday.
