The Associated Press has released its 2022 preseason Top 25 College Football Poll and a familiar team is atop the ranking.
The University of Alabama was chosen No. 1 by a panel of 63 sports writers and broadcasters from around the country who vote on the poll weekly.
Ohio State University was second in the poll, with the University of Georgia named third, Clemson fourth and Notre Dame coming in fifth.
The rest of the top 10 spots went to Texas A&M, Utah, Michigan, Oklahoma and Baylor.

According to The Associated Press, the news organization began its college football poll on Oct. 19, 1936, and it is the longest-running poll of those that award national titles at the end of the season.
The first batch of college football games for the 2022 season begins on Aug. 27.
