Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase serves surprised customers at Ohio drive-thru

ANDERSON TOWNSHIP, Ohio — Ja’Marr Chase served up many thrills during his rookie season with the Cincinnati Bengals. A few days after his team lost in the Super Bowl, the rookie wide receiver was serving customers in the drive-thru of a suburban Cincinnati restaurant.

The NFL’s rookie of the year was working a shift at Raising Cane’s in Anderson Township on Wednesday, passing out meals to surprised customers at the drive-thru lane and at the cash register of the chicken chain restaurant, Sports Illustrated reported.

Chase leaned out of the drive-thru window to deliver food and took orders from customers, WCPO-TV reported. Some of the customers recognized Chase immediately and congratulated him on his season, the television station reported. Chase caught 81 passes during the regular season for 1,455 yards and 13 touchdowns and added five catches for 89 yards during the Bengals’ 23-20 loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LVI. One of those catches was a spectacular 46-yard reception from Joe Burrow that set up the Bengals’ first score.

Chase was not the only player working at a Raising Cane’s. On Tuesday, Los Angeles Rams cornerback Jalen Ramsey, still savoring a Super Bowl victory, also worked at one of the chain’s restaurants, Sports Illustrated reported.
