Westbrook reportedly left an $8,000 tip for the hotel housekeeping staff before leaving Walt Disney World’s Grand Floridian Hotel, the site of the NBA bubble, the Houston Chronicle reported.

Westbrook, 31, whose Rockets were eliminated by the Los Angeles Lakers during the second round of the Western Conference finals in mid-September, had stayed at the hotel since late July as the NBA playoffs were held at one site because of the coronavirus pandemic. Westbrook gave the sizable tip when he left, according to Brad Townsend of The Dallas Morning News.

“Moreover, I’m told, he left the room virtually spotless,” Townsend tweeted.

“They took great care of us,” Westbrook said, according to a tweet from Bleacher Report’s Taylor Rooks. “Took the time and energy to do their job at a high level. That was the right thing. I like to do the right thing.”

Westbrook confirmed that he left a tip but did not disclose the amount, Rooks said.

The Rockets star also left a thank-you letter for the staff, the Chronicle reported.
