HUNTSVILLE, Ala. — Police in a northern Alabama city received a heartwarming surprise Thursday night.
Lt. Michael Johnson told AL.com that residents who live near the University of Alabama in Huntsville replaced their porch lights with blue bulbs to honor police.
Huntsville residents called officers working the third shift, who drove into the area and saw the display, WHNT reported.
“Someone simply called police to come through the neighborhood,” Johnson told AL.com.
West Precicnt 3rd Shift Officers received an unusual call last night. It wasn’t a call of distress. It’s wasn’t a call of a citizen in need. But it was a call that was definitely unexpected. An entire neighborhood showing their support for law enforcement. Thank you! pic.twitter.com/9kD9Nkfloz
