KANAWHA COUNTY, W.Va. — A body was found in a freezer in West Virginia after deputies conducted a well-being check on Friday.
The Kanawha County Sheriff’s Office told WCHS on Wednesday that a body was found in a freezer at a house.
WSAZ said that deputies were conducting a well-being check when they found the body.
Neighbors who live near the house in Cross Lanes, West Virginia, told WOWK that the body was found in a backyard freezer on Friday and a large amount of law enforcement officials arrived to remove the body from the freezer.
Neighbors also said that the body belonged to a woman in her 70s. KCSO detectives said that the identity of the person has not been confirmed and the cause of death remains under investigation, according to WCHS.
KCSO told WOWK that an autopsy was done on Monday and they are waiting for the results.
