Officials with Northern Lights Enterprises announced a recall of candles sold at Costco after reports of the jars shattering, cracking or otherwise breaking, causing injuries to three people.
In a recall notice issued Thursday, officials with the Consumer Product Safety Commission identified the recalled products as Alaura brand two-tone jar candles in the scents Frosted Forest and Vanilla Biscotti. Officials said a sticker at the bottom of the jar has the words Alaura Candles printed on it.
About 139,500 candles were sold for about $17 each nationwide through Costco Wholesale Warehouses and the company’s website between August and September. Officials with Northern Lights said they have since received nearly 140 reports of candles breaking, posing a fire and laceration hazard.
