PHOENIX — A chihuahua and pig duo from an Arizona animal rescue have found a new home together.
KPNX says a chihuahua named Timon and a pig named Pumbaa became an iconic duo while they were at the Arizona Humane Society. Timon and Pumbaa are similar to characters from the popular Disney movie, “The Lion King”, which is a movie about how friends come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and species.
The AHS says that while it does not normally recommend that pigs and dogs live together, they witnessed Timon and Pumbaa together on occasion. Luckily, Timon and Pumbaa were able to find a home together with another Arizona rescue, Better Piggies Rescue.
BPR says Pumbaa will be joining a few other piggies they have once they are fixed. All the other piggies will be placed in the field except for Pumbaa so he can be near his best friend, Timon, and greet visitors once tours start up again in September. BPR says they are working on getting Timon to become a sanctuary dog.
