The convenience store chain is teaming up with Chicago-based Green Thumb, a leading cannabis packaged goods company, to provide products for some of the chains locations in Florida.

Green Thumb CEO Ben Kovler said the companies will sell cannabis products at 10 “RISE Express” dispensaries in the state.

RISE Express dispensaries will have separate entrances from the gas stations.

“The opening of RISE Express stores at Circle K locations is a game-changer. Convenience is a strong channel in retail, and people want more access to cannabis,” Kovler, said in a statement.

“The new RISE Express model is a huge step forward in making it easier and more efficient for patients to purchase high-quality cannabis as part of their everyday routine when stopping by their local convenience store,” he added.

The products to be sold include marijuana flower (smokable marijuana buds), pre-rolls, gummies and vapes, Green Thumb representatives said.

It is illegal to sell marijuana under federal law but several states, including Florida, allows its sale for medical use.

Nearly 560,000 Floridians have a medical marijuana card, according to the Florida Department of Health.
