Domestic violence charge dismissed against singer Michelle Branch

A domestic assault charge against singer Michelle Branch was dismissed on Wednesday, according to court records.

The case was dismissed Wednesday at the request of the state of Tennessee, with no restitution or court costs incurred as a result of the dispute, according to Davidson County online court records.

The reason for the dismissal was listed as “settlement,” but no other details were provided, the Los Angeles Times reported. No restitution or court costs were incurred as a result of the dispute.

Branch, 39, was arrested on Aug. 11 at her Nashville home in connection with an altercation with her estranged husband, The Black Keys drummer Patrick Carney, 42, multiple sources reported. Police arrested the “Everywhere” singer “without incident” and she was booked into jail at 4:38 a.m. CDT, according to online records. Records from the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office showed Branch was booked into jail at 4:30 a.m. on Aug. 11 and released on $1,000 bail about seven hours later.

Branch’s 12-hour hold was modified because she is currently breastfeeding her 6-month-old baby, The Tennessean reported.

In a criminal complaint obtained by Page Six, authorities said that Carney had no visible facial injuries after the incident.

Branch and Carney welcomed their second child together, Willie Jacquet Carney, on Feb. 2. Their first child, a son named Rhys James, is 4 years old, according to Billboard.

Branch is also mother to a 17-year-old girl, Owen Isabelle, from her previous marriage to bass player Teddy Landau, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Carney and Branch were married in New Orleans in 2019, People reported. On Aug 11., Branch announced that the couple was separating.
