NASHVILLE, Tenn. — This was not the kind of joyride a Tennessee driver wanted.
The owner of a Kia Forte took a ride on the hood of his car Friday in an attempt to stop two teens from stealing it, WZTV reported.
According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old stole the car in downtown Nashville, according to WKRN. Police said the car had been left unlocked with the keys inside, the television station reported.
The owner of the car jumped onto its hood and the teens drove off, but they became stuck in traffic and attempted to flee on foot, according to WSMV.
Police were able to arrest the teens quickly, the television station reported. They were booked into juvenile court on charges of auto theft and aggravated assault, WZTV reported. The 17-year-old who was arrested was in possession of the victim’s cell phone, according to WKRN.
