Helen Mirren to get Life Achievement Award from Screen Actors Guild

LOS ANGELES — Award-winning actress Helen Mirren will be honored with the SAG Life Achievement award at the 28th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards, to be presented in February.

The English actress has credits spanning 50 years and has been honored with an Oscar, a Tony, and multiple SAG, Emmy and BAFTA awards, the Associated Press reported. Included in those awards are five SAG Award wins and 13 nominations.

The award is given each year to an actor who fosters “the finest ideals of the acting profession”. Mirren will be the 57th recipient of the award.

The 28th annual SAG awards will be broadcast live on Feb. 27 on TNT and TBS at 8 p.m. ET.

Mirren will next appear in “The Duke” with Jim Broadbent, due for release in spring 2022.

Mirren, who is 76, was appointed a Dame of the British Empire in 2003.
