A fellow diner at the restaurant noticed an older man sitting alone in a booth attaching money to notes, WFLA reported.

Kevin Cate, who was having breakfast with his wife and three children, went over and spoke to the man who declined to give his name, asking him what he was doing, the “Today” show reported.

Cate said he went over because the other man was alone.

“I saw him sit down by himself, and I gave him a wave because he was eating alone and, you know, just wanted to be friendly,” Cate told “Today.” “When I was checking out, you know, I saw him organizing gobs of money in front of him, and I just struck up a conversation.”

Cate shared the encounter on Twitter.

The man told Cate that he’s been giving $1 and $5 bills to people he meets at the popular diner and other places.

Each bill has a note that reads “Love Every Body,” which the man told Cate were the last words his mother said to him before she died.

The man said he prints and cuts the notes every couple of days.
