JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man is dead and a 7-year-old hurt after gunfire erupted at a youth football game in Florida, authorities said.
According to ActionNewsJax, the incident occurred Sunday at 6000 Macy Ave. in Jacksonville’s Arlington neighborhood. Jacksonville sheriff’s deputies responded to a reported shooting to find the man and child with gunshot wounds.
Emergency crews rushed the victims to a nearby hospital, where doctors pronounced the man dead, the news outlet reported. The child’s injuries were not considered life-threatening, authorities said.
Deputies have not released further information about a possible suspect, ActionNewsJax reported.
