The Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office said Amy Dick knotted a blanket around her 1-year-old son’s neck while she was holding him on Monday, WXIX reported.

Prosecutors told WLWT that Dick’s husband walked into the room and witnessed what was happening. He immediately ran to stop her.

A spokesperson for the sheriff’s office told WXIX that the child was turning red and foaming at the mouth while Dick tightened the blanket.

Dick allegedly attacked her husband when he took their baby away, WLWT reported.

After he was punched in the face, Dick’s husband yelled for their other children to come help. The man and his children got the toddler to safety, WXIX reported. The baby never lost consciousness and had only minor injuries.

According to an arrest report obtained by WXIX, Dick admitted to deputies that she tied the blanket around the child’s neck, but said she did not know why she did it.

Dick was charged with felonious assault, endangering children and domestic violence, WLWT reported. Her bond was set at $13,000.
