LAS VEGAS — New Orleans Saints running back Alvin Kamara is facing a battery charge in connection with a weekend beating at a Las Vegas nightclub.
According to The Associated Press, Kamara, 26, was arrested Sunday after he competed in the Pro Bowl, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department said in a news release. He was booked in the Clark County Detention Center on a charge of battery resulting in substantial bodily harm and released after posting $5,000 bail, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.
Police said they learned of the incident Saturday after responding to an area hospital, where a patient “reported being battered at a nightclub” on South Las Vegas Boulevard, according to the news release.
“The investigation by LVMPD detectives determined the victim was battered by the suspect, later identified as Alvin Kamara,” the release said.
Kamara is slated to appear in court March 8, the Review-Journal reported.
