Officials: 1 dead, 4 injured including 2 children in shooting, crash in Baltimore

BALTIMORE — Five people have reportedly been injured in a shooting and crash in Baltimore, Maryland, on Saturday evening.

Baltimore Police Department on Twitter confirmed that there are multiple victims in a shooting near Pennsylvania Avenue and Laurens Street, Saturday evening.

Officers were called just before 6:40 p.m. for a report of shots fired. Baltimore Police Commissioner Harrison said once officers arrived, it was learned thafive victims werere injured,

In a news conference Saturday evening, Harrison said five people were injured in the shooting and four of those people had gunshot wounds. Those injured include three adults and two children.

One man was reportedly shot in the arm and is in stable condition. Harrison said another man was shot while standing outside. He was taken to the hospital where he has since died from his injuries.

A woman was in a car with two children that were driving down the street. Her car came to a stop when it crashed into a pole, according to WBAL.

Harrison said that woman has a gunshot wound and is in critical condition. Harrison said a 6-year-old has critical injuries as a result of the crash. A 2-year-old has a gunshot wound and is in critical but stable condition.

Harrison said it is believed that a gunman or multiple gunmen reportedly opened fire. It is not clear who the intended target was - either the people in the car or people outside at the intersection.
