A neighbor called 911 after Clio Trice told him she had hit the victim in the head, strangled him until he died and then buried the body in her backyard, WPLG reported.

Police arrested Trice after arriving at the scene to find an 81-year-old man’s body under a wooden plank and buried in what appeared to be a “freshly-filled” grave, WTVJ reported.

“She went and told a person that she had some things on her mind and that’s when she told a neighbor she snapped and choked him to death, and then she buried him in the backyard,” neighbor Alex Hughes told WFOR. “You never imagine you can wake up and it’s like, next door. It’s your next-door neighbor.

Neighbors told WFOR that Trice, 50, lived with her elderly boyfriend for more than a decade, and said that in recent months the man’s health had begun to suffer.

Police said that Trice told them she had been living with the victim since 2008, and while they initially had a “dating relationship,” their current relationship resembled that of a “father and daughter,” WTVJ reported.

“I know she used to get angry with him every once in a while, because he used to make a mess around the house,” David Johnson, a neighbor, told WPLG.

Police have not identified the victim or revealed precisely when he was killed.
