In a news release on Tuesday, the FDA said that Lidl US recalled its 8.4-ounce Favorina branded Advent Calendar, described as a “premium chocolate with a creamy filling.”

“This issue was found during routine testing, which Lidl performs on an ongoing basis to help ensure safe and quality products for our customers,” according to Lidl’s recall notice, which was posted by the FDA.

Units affected by this recall were available at Lidl US stores between Oct. 12, 2022, and Dec. 5, 2022, the FDA said. The product has a “best by” date of 2023 and has a barcode number of 4056489516965.

Lidl US said it had received no complaints or reports of illness related to the Advent calendar.

“Lidl US takes the health and safety of its customers as its top priority,” the company said in a statement. “If customers have purchased this product, they should not consume the product, and immediately return it to their nearest Lidl store for a full refund.”

Consumers with questions can call the Lidl US Customer Care Hotline at 1-844-747-5435 from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. EST, Monday through Saturday.
