The video, shared on the band’s Twitter and Instagram accounts, is a montage of photographs and videos of Watts playing, Variety reported. Watts, who joined the band in January 1963, died Tuesday at the age of 80.

The music is edited to the beat of the Stones’ 1974 song, “If You Can’t Rock Me,” the opening track to the band’s album, “It’s Only Rock ‘n’ Roll.”

During a group interview, Mick Jagger joked to reporters gathered that the taciturn Watts would answer all of their questions, prompting guitarist Ronnie Wood to quip, “Here he is, the wonderful, the illusionist.”

In an interview that is part of the video, Watts talks about joining the group, figuring it was a temporary gig.

“So when the Stones asked me to join, they talked in terms of a band, a commitment in other words. ‘Oh, this will go on for a year, and next year fold up,’” Watts said.

Fifty-eight years of playing together proved that to be wrong.
