BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — Big guy touchdowns are fun to watch.
Whether it’s NFL behemoths William “The Refrigerator” Perry blasting through the line for a score or Donald Penn cradling a pass, or Darren Paulo of the University of Utah catching a TD pass on his back, fans revel in unusual scoring plays.
Add Rutgers University offensive lineman Raiqwon O’Neal to the list.
The 6-foot-4, 305-pound junior had his day in the sun Saturday afternoon against Indiana University. The Conway, South Carolina, native caught a pass in the left flat from quarterback Noah Vedral and ran up the left sideline, diving into the end zone and clipping the pylon for a third-quarter touchdown.
The score gave Rutgers a 31-3 lead with 32 seconds left in the third quarter. The Scarlet Knights (4-5, 1-5 in the Big Ten) took a 38-3 victory against the Hoosiers (2-7, 0-6).
Scoring is nothing new for O’Neal. He scored on a 4-yard run last season against Ohio State, according to the Rutgers media guide.
Here is a look at O’Neal’s touchdown.
