The four-bedroom, two-bathroom house in Astoria was featured prominently in the 1985 film that starred Sean Astin and Josh Brolin, KPTV reported.

The 1,935-square-foot home with a wraparound porch has been a tourist attraction for movie fans, who flocked to the quiet Uppertown neighborhood, according to The Astorian. That became a point of contention in 2015 -- the 30th anniversary of the film -- when fans visited the home in droves, according to the newspaper.

Owner Sandi Preston, unhappy with foot traffic around the home, posted signs forbidding tourists from walking up the dirt road to the property, the Willamette Week reported. A blue tarp also appeared on parts of the home, The Astorian reported.

Preston eventually changed her mind and allowed fans to walk up to the home.

“It was just something that I felt I needed to do,” Preston told Willamette Week in August. “I’ll just leave it at that.”

The sale of the house is being handled by Jordan Miller of John L. Scott Real Estate and he is also selling the home next door for sale at $550,000, The Astorian reported.

Miller said he and the seller are not just looking for any buyer.

“It has to be someone who appreciates this movie and the history of this movie and this beautiful town,” Miller told KOIN-TV.
