TOLEDO, Ohio — An Ohio teen is making sure children in need have something to keep them warm and comforted as the temperatures drop.

Audrey Giesige, 17, was already planning on making blankets for those who need them in Toledo, Ohio, WTOL reported.

Then she found out there were 400 children in need in the Lucas County Children Services system.

Giesige jumped into action, working with friends and youth group members to help make blankets.

On Wednesday, with help from the Toledo Police Department SWAT team, Giesige delivered 115 blankets, WTOL reported.

This isn’t the first time Giesige has blanketed the community.

Last year she made blankets for the St. Paul’s Community Center, Giesige told West Bend News in October when she had shared her plans for her 2020 donation.
