Tory Lanez re-arrested for violating protective order in Megan Thee Stallion case

Tory Lanez was re-arrested during a Tuesday court hearing after a judge ruled that the rapper violated court orders in the criminal case regarding his alleged 2020 shooting of Megan Thee Stallion.

According to Billboard and Rolling Stone, Judge David Herriford ruled that certain social media posts from Lanez violated a protective order requiring him to avoid any contact with Stallion.

TMZ was the first outlet to report the development, noting that Lanez was handcuffed and taken into custody during a Tuesday court hearing.

Herriford then revoked Lanez’ prior $250,000 bail, tacked on an additional $100,000 and set a Sept. 24 court date, Billboard reported.

The “Say It” rapper, whose legal name is Daystar Peterson, has pleaded not guilty to both assault with a firearm and a gun possession charge related to the July 2020 shooting of Stallion that occurred during an argument following a Hollywood Hills party.

“The self-serving noise in this case will not change the facts or prevent this case from proceeding,” an attorney for Stallion said in a prepared statement provided to Billboard following Tuesday’s hearing.
