Families, classrooms and groups can sign up for a virtual donation box this year.

The virtual box will have a custom link and QR code that can be shared digitally.

Kids can earn trick-or-treat coins by taking part in activities and watching educational videos. The virtual coins will translate to real donations that the children then say what the money will be used for.

One caveat: The collection is entirely virtual, so even if kids can trick or treat in a traditional way, the donation collection will not be permitted.

Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF started in 1950 with the money going to help improve the lives of children all over the world. It helps pay for communications, education and safe water, among other initiatives.
