The victim, a 44-year-old woman, was involved in a verbal altercation with people in a red 2016 Nissan Altima as the cars approached a red light, West Palm Beach police told WPBF. At the red light, police said someone in the Altima shot at the victim, hitting her in the neck.

Despite her injuries, the victim continued driving, and followed the suspect’s vehicle north on Interstate 95 into Martin County, WPTV reported. As she drove, she called 911 and gave dispatchers a description of the vehicle.

“She was critically wounded but was able to maintain following the suspect vehicle and, along with others, provide information that led our detectives to that suspect vehicle,” Mike Jachles, a spokesperson for the West Palm Beach Police Department told WPBF.

After 15 miles, the victim pulled over and was flown to a hospital in critical condition, WPEC reported.

Detectives tracked the suspect’s car and stopped it, detaining three people inside, WPTV reported.

“The three people that were in that suspect vehicle are refusing to cooperate with police,” Jachles told WPTV.

Police told WPBF that they had recovered evidence but did not elaborate on what the evidence is. No arrests have been made.
