The Los Angeles Police Department said in a news release that it was called to a report of an assault with a deadly weapon and arrived to find a suspect armed with a sword.

LAPD released a video from an officer’s body camera that shows a man standing in the middle of the street armed with two samurai swords. After multiple commands to put the sword down, which the man ignored, the officer deployed a Taser and took the man into custody. Police identified the suspect as Eric Herrera in the news release.

After arresting Herrera, officers at the scene located a female victim who suffered multiple cuts and required a tourniquet. Officers did not identify the victim, but told KCBS that she was taken to the hospital in stable condition.

Police told KABC that there was a family dispute leading up to the incident, but did not disclose the nature of the relationship between Herrera and the victim.

Herrera was charged with attempted murder and taken to jail on $100,000 bail, police said.
