One ticket matched all five numbers and the Powerball in Wednesday night’s drawing, worth $473.1 million, lottery officials said in a news release.

The winning numbers were 11, 36, 61, 62, and 68. The Powerball number was 4. The Power Play was 2.

According to Arizona Lottery officials, the winning ticket was sold at a QuikTrip gas station in Gilbert, KPHO-TV reported. It is the largest jackpot won on a single ticket in Arizona history, according to the television station.

Arizona Lottery officials did not know if a single person or a pool of people bought the winning ticket, KNXV-TV reported.

Due to strong ticket sales, the jackpot rose to its final number, and the winner can take the cash in 30 graduated payments over 29 years or a lump-sum cash option of $283.3 million before taxes, lottery officials said.

“It is a life-changing moment for this winner,” Arizona Lottery Executive Director Gregg Edgar said in a statement. “It also means millions of dollars to our state’s economy, to this winner’s community, and to the vital programs and services funded by Arizona Lottery ticket sales.”

A 2019 Arizona law states that winners of Arizona Lottery prizes of $100,000 or more automatically remain anonymous for 90 days but can choose to remain anonymous permanently, KPHO reported.

“Money that comes in through ticket sales, helps our state-mandated beneficiaries,” John Gilliland, a spokesperson for the Arizona Lottery, told KNXV. “There are 18 different vital programs and services that would otherwise rely on tax dollars for their funding if it weren’t for the Arizona Lottery.”

The Powerball jackpot was reset to $20 million. The next drawing is Saturday night.
