Becca Moore was at the Coachella music festival, and on the third day there, someone stole her phone, credit cards and keys from her purse, KNBC reported.

Moore got in an Uber, planning to get a new phone, but said that the driver, whom she identified as Raul, knew something was wrong and immediately ended his driving shift to help her. In a video that has been “liked” more than 329,500 times on TikTok, Moore explained that Raul went above and beyond by helping her to file a police report, finding her phone and credit cards, and making sure she got a rental car to get home.

The driver, Raul Torres, said he didn’t think twice about helping Moore. “I was just happy to help her, you know what I mean. It’s just weird but you know I couldn’t leave her back there because she didn’t know nobody there so I had to help her out,” Torres told KESQ.

While the pair were together, Torres shared his own family’s struggles with Moore, telling her that his father was dying of terminal cancer, and his teenage daughter is going through chemotherapy, Moore said in the video. Torres revealed the reason he was driving for Uber was to earn the money to care for his family.

“Raul ended his Uber shift that morning to spend his day helping me, expecting nothing in return,” Moore said in the video. “So yesterday, I made him a GoFundMe with a goal of $1,000, and we reached that in one hour.”

By Tuesday afternoon, the GoFundMe had raised more than $142,700.

“When I was in the car with him it seemed like we were both so focused on my situation,” Moore said. “We were talking about getting me a phone and things that, like, did not matter. He completely glazed over the fact that his daughter and his dad were the ones that needed help.”
