Vegan options debut at Epcot Int'l Food & Wine Festival

ORLANDO, Fla. — Gardein, an award-winning line of healthy and delicious meat-free foods, is offering its great-tasting, healthy meatless protein options at the 17th Annual Epcot® International Food & Wine Festival, which runs through November 12.

For the festival, featuring entertainment, food and beverages from around the world, Epcot chefs have created two signature dishes with Gardein to be featured at “Terra,” a new Marketplace that focuses on vegan and organic dishes and beverages. First, they are incorporating the brand’s Chick’n Breasts, plant- and soy-based meatless breasts seared to bring out the texture and flavor of real chicken, into a dish called Trick’n Chick’n, which is served with red curry sauce and basmati rice. In addition, the chefs are using Gardein’s Beefless Tips seared with peppers and onions and covered in mole sauce to create Chili Colorado, which is paired with potato chips and cashew cheese for vegan nachos.

“We’re thrilled to have Gardein spotlighted in such a prestigious event that celebrates culinary excellence from all around the world,” said Yves Potvin, Gardein founder and president. “Our mission is to create healthier, meat-free versions of the everyday foods that people love to eat, so it is rewarding to see such delicious dishes made with our products that everyone can enjoy.”

Epcot guests can also enjoy Gardein’s Crispy Chick’n Pieces with Asian noodles or in a rice bowl at the Sunshine Seasons food court at The Land Pavilion, while the Coral Reef Restaurant is serving the Chili Colorado.

“When we decided to create an entire vegan area at this year’s festival, it was important for us to offer attendees food that is both nutritious and great tasting,” said Epcot Executive Chef Jens Dahlmann. “Everyone who tries our dishes made with Gardein will experience an abundance of flavors, tastes and textures and be surprised that they are meat-free.”
