ORLANDO, Fla.,None — What does a trip to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter cost the average family? WFTV reporter Berndt Petersen crunched the numbers Friday: Adults $79, children $69, and that's just for the right to wait at least a few hours to get in.

Then, the sky is the limit. It depends on which Harry Potter souvenirs you really have to have.

The longest lines inside the Wizarding World of Harry Potter were not to tour Hogwarts Castle or ride one of the two roller coasters, they were to get a drink.

Brothers Poomrata and Poomrerk came all the way from Thailand with their credit card.

"We come all the way from Thailand to try this butterbeer! Yeah!" Poomrata said. "I mean, we already lost $100 on Butterbeer and the wand we just bought. It's quite pricey, but once in a lifetime!"

For Harry Potter fans, the price of admission was only the beginning. A mug of frozen butterbeer is $10.65. A genuine Hogwarts school robe costs $99.95.

"I already have a wand, so I figured, why not?" visitor Paul Yurick said.

Broomsticks start at $300. Yurick, from Fort Lauderdale, bought what's called a Marauder's Map for $69 and only serious Potter fans know what that is.

"It's totally worth it if you love it, right?" Yurick said.

Some families told WFTV they spent several hundred dollars, because they couldn't resist what they saw in the shops.

"They're really cool. They have everything in there!" visitor Abigail Furness said. "They're just brilliant! I love them."

The most popular items may be the wands. Mario Guzman couldn't leave without one.

"Because I love Harry Potter and seeing the movies. I need to get myself a wand," Guzman said.

If you need to get yourself a wand, it's $30.
