Toyota of Orlando and Toyota of Clermont are collecting school supplies for local foster youth!

Back to school 2013 is here! Schools in Central Florida will swinging back into session in a few short weeks, and our family of dealerships is getting ready by hosting a Back to School Supplies Drive for local foster youth. Toyota of Orlando and Toyota of Clermont are working with the prestigious organization IMPOWER to collect school supplies – these supplies will be given to local foster youth so they have all the tools they need for a successful school year in 2013!

We’re proud to work with the local non-profit IMPOWER to gather these much-needed supplies. IMPOWER is an organization that works with local foster youth to ensure they have the life skills they need to have happy, successful lives despite hardships that they might be facing. They offer tutoring, counseling, transportation, and mentoring services. In addition, they currently have a housing facility in Central Florida that around 15 local foster youth call home! IMPOWER is an incredible organization – help us help them get these kids the tools they need for the 2013 school year!

If you’d like to contribute, it’s easy! Just swing by Toyota of Orlando (off I-4 near the Millenia Mall) or Toyota of Clermont (just west of the Florida Turnpike on State Road 50) and leave your donations in the special barrels at the front of the dealership. You can also leave them with our receptionists if you prefer! Here are the school supplies we’re seeking: 
  • Backpacks
  • #2 pencils and pencil boxes
  • Erasers
  • Spiral and composition notebooks
  • Black, blue and red pens
  • Adult and youth scissors
  • Wide and college rules notebook paper
  • Pocket and 3 prong folders
  • Computer and graph paper
  • Glue sticks and Elmer's glue
  • 16 and 24 count boxes of crayons
  • Combination locks
  • Compasses and calculators
  • Rulers and Protractors
  • Highlighters and colored pencils
  • 1′ and 3′ 3-ring binders

Help us make a difference for local foster youth! 

This isn’t the first time we’ve teamed up with IMPOWER to make a difference in our community – in fact, we’ve worked with them on several occasions! We handed over the keys to a new Toyota Sienna last year when they won the Toyota 100 Cars for Good giveaway, and we also hosted a 2012 holiday gift drive to help these foster youth celebrate Christmas. We love being able to team up with IMPOWER and give back to the community – we couldn’t ask for a better partner!
