Get your Orlando Scion out of storage and hit the road!

Here in Central Florida, we’re pretty fortunate to get mild winter most of the year (except for our scorching hot summers). Not many people find themselves having to put their sports cars into storage to protect them from winter weather! However, there are a multitude of reasons why you may need to put your new Scion in Orlando in storage for a while, and we’re here to help make the process easier than ever. Storing your car is simple, but taking it out of storage is a different story altogether!

How to get your new Scion out of storage efficiently

When you decide to pull your new Scion in Orlando out of storage, there are certain steps you should take to get it road-ready again – you should never just get into the driver’s seat and hit the open highway. We sat down with our Toyota service techs to get the full scoop, and we’ve listed out the steps you should take to get things rolling for your new Scion again!
  • First, get an oil change! You may think that since you have a full tank of oil leftover from last time you took it for a spin that you're good to go, but that's not the case. Your Orlando Scion needs a fresh tank of oil to clean out any sludge or buildup that may have developed while it was in storage. (Did we mention we offer cheap oil changes in Orlando every day of the week at our dealership?)
  • Next, check your tires. You're going to have to replenish the air in them, as your tire pressure will have dropped while the car was in storage. Not having enough pressure in your tires affects performance, traction, and fuel efficiency, so don't hit the road until your new Scion's tires are properly inflated. You might also have flat spots in your tires from the car sitting in one spot for a long time, so be sure to check for those  - if they don't go away with more air, then you may need a new set of tires!

Check under the hood of your Orlando Scion before hitting the road!

  • Lastly? Take a peek under the hood of your new Orlando Scion!  You should check all the belts and hoses to make sure they're in good condition, and that they don't have any cracks or leaks. Also give everything under the hood a once-over to make sure no critters have made a home there over the cold winter, and be sure to top off or change any fluids as needed before you hit the highway!
