Toyota of Orlando donates 2013 Toyota Sienna to non-profit!

At Toyota of Orlando, we love to get involved with the community. Last month we sponsored the Toyota of Clermont Turkey Trot for our soon-opening sister store. It was a great success that benefited the local Back to School is Cool organization, which provides school supplies to local children who need them. This month, we’re proud to participate in the Toyota 100 Cars for Good giveaway and present Intervention Services, Inc. with a brand new 2013 Toyota Sienna for use at their housing facility, The Village!

Intervention Services benefits foster youth in Central Florida

Toyota's 100 Cars for Good is a yearly giveaway in which the company presents 100 different non-profit organizations with a new Toyota over the course of 100 days. This year, Intervention Services, Inc. was the winner! They're a local non-profit that serves to benefit foster children and families in Central Florida. They provide services like mentoring, substance abuse counseling, tutoring, and job skills training in addition to their adoption and foster services. The Village is the facet of Intervention Services that will benefit directly from the new Toyota Sienna. They're a housing facility for foster youth in Central Florida, and they provide a safe residence for youth who aren't able to transition into independent living just yet.

The Village, however, doesn't just provide these youth with four walls and a bed. They also provide them with mentoring and life skills training, as well as employment and education plans! The Village additionally gives residents access to legal and medical services, and transports them to appointments and meetings accordingly. However, up until now they only have one very old and unreliable source of transportation – the 2013 Toyota Sienna that Toyota of Orlando is presenting them with will take care of that!

2013 Toyota Sienna will provide new transportation option for The Village

Why is The Village so important to foster youth in Central Florida? According to national statistics, 66% of foster children will be homeless, end up in jail, or die within one year of exiting the foster care system. Only about 40-50% of them will finish high school, and a mere 2% will finish a four-year degree. The Village helps to decrease these statistics by providing these youth with the skills and tools they need for successful lives! Toyota of Orlando is so happy to contribute the 2013 Toyota Sienna in Orlando, which will help tremendously with transportation!

Additionally, Toyota of Orlando is sponsoring a holiday drive to help benefit the foster youth living in The Village! We're collecting items like sports gear and equipment, nail polish and bath sets, card and board games, and gift cards (for places like Target, Walmart, and the movies) at our Toyota dealership in Central Florida. Visit our website to see the entire list, and help us support this incredible organization and give the youth living at The Village an amazing holiday!

Toyota of Orlando is located just off I-4 near the Millenia Mall, at the Conroy exit. Feel free to drop off your contributions with our receptionist, and give us a call at (407) 298-4500 with any questions you may have! Happy Holidays, Orlando!
