Summer is here! However, with beach days and summer vacations come intense heat and sun, pollens, and love bugs. It’s important to protect your ride from all of the above to keep resale value high and appearance like-new, and Toyota of Orlando has tips to help you do it with simple auto detailing. You won’t have to shell out a ton of money, and it won’t take much of your time, either. Let’s get started!
Protect your car from summer with Toyota of Orlando
Pollen: Pollen can be a big pain – not only does it make your car look dingy and dirty, it also can damage your paint if you don’t wash it off. When dealing with pollen, be sure to give your car a good rinse every other day or so, and regularly apply wax when you’re auto detailing to lend a little more protection.
Love bugs: Love bugs don’t bite or sting, but they can mess up your car pretty badly. These pesky Orlando bugs need to be scrubbed off as soon as possible to prevent damage. Rinse the area where they’ve accumulated and then use a dryer sheet to scrub them off – trust us on this one! Rinse and repeat until they’re all gone.
Heat: Heat can big-time damage your car – our Orlando auto service specialists have seen it firsthand. That’s why it’s important to take steps when auto detailing to protect your vehicle. Use a leather conditioner on any leather or SofTex surfaces to keep them moisturized, and consider cracking your windows when you’re parked to let heat out. You might also check your tire PSI while you’re cleaning things up to ensure it’s at the right level.
UV Rays: Sun can be fun, but it can also do a number on your ride. Here are the top tips we got from the Toyota of Orlando service techs to help you protect your car from UV rays:
- Avoid washing your car when it’s sunny or intensely hot. This will cause it to dry unevenly due to evaporation and leave your paint looking blotchy and faded.
- Wax! Just like it protects from pollen and other dirt and debris, regularly waxing your car will protect the paint from fading in the summer sun.
- Tint your windows – it may not be standard auto detailing, but it will keep the interior of your car protected from the intense sunlight. You might also consider investing in a sunshade, seat covers, and a steering wheel cover.
Auto detailing can keep your resale value high this summer!
